Tried it on a while. Extremely comfortable. Sound is good!
Can’t wait to put it to use.

Is this just for bluetooth connection to your phone or does it allow for communication with other crew members on a tree job if they also have one of these helmets?

Good question. I don’t think so, but dont know. You can listen to programs or take phone calls.

Nice looking helmet. I don't do much chainsawing so I use my old firefighting helmet with face shield. It's a little heavy to use for hours on end.

I can't imagine "listening" to anything but the work at hand. When I'm under a tree or around big stuff on the ground, sound is my only warning.

But then, I took the radio out of my sports car..........

I ran saws and farm equipment to the point of damaging my hearing.
Now it’s a pleasure to have ear covers & a little radio. I can still hear the saw fine.
If you want, you can uncover one ear.

Really nice piece of equipment. And I applaud you for upping your safety game. When they make it so nice and so easy to protect yourself it is kind of a no brainer.

Also, That could easily be used as a comm device as well. You would need a GMRS radio or some other device to do the sending and receiving. But could easily be done.

Man, for me myself, no way id use that. I saw too many accidents on construction sites from people being sidetracked by headsets while working. Including someone walking behind a D6 that was backing up and he was totally oblivious to it. Luckily the operator wasnt, but it nearly ended up in a nice fistfight.

Im not opposed to running my radio in the tractor cab when out mowing, but i dont use it when working around other people….ever. I want to stay focused.

Communication style forestry helmets are used by some tree crews because the guy cutting the tree top needs to be able to talk with the ground crew to tell them when he's about to drop a limb or that they need to prepare for a heavier piece coming their way, etc. Then they don't have to yell back and forth at each other all day.

I wear a helmet with a mesh face shield and hearing protection when cutting with the front mount cutter on my Power Trac. Don't need the bluetooth feature, but comfort is important when wearing one of these things for hours at a time.
