Stihl 025 -- What is comperable newer model??

Only later did I realize that I should have kept that smaller chainsaw too. It has a very good power to weight ratio especially for the price.

That's pretty much the way I feel about the 023 I have.

As been stated already, MS250 is the equivalent. If you've got a few extra pennies to spend I'd look at the 270 a more modern design or the 290, similar design, more power though heavier/bulkier. If you want to go smaller (wieght), more powerful, more erogonomic and pro quality 260. A bit pricier though, but well worth it IMO. A well maintained 260 will last 20+ years and then you can rebuild it. Can't do that with the modular cases.

I understand those that like the 023/025s, good little saws with few problems for the average wood cutter.
