The 3-pt. control lever on my L39 is very stiff. Didn't notice until I removed the backhoe and installed the 3-pt. hitch arms. The lever drags against one side of its slot, but I can cope with that by pulling the lever to the opposite side. I squirted a little oil on the point where the control rod enters the 3-pt. housing, but that didn't help much.
I was trying to use the 3-pt. hitch with a rear blade today to grade a driveway, and found that I had to slap the control lever to make it change position. Needless to say, the driveway wound up looking pretty rough.
My old L2950 3-pt hitch control got pretty stiff years ago, but oiling the point where it entered the 3-point body smoothed things right out. To do a good job with a rear blade or box blade, I need the control lever to move smoothly. Any suggestions?
