sticking joystick l3940

170 hours on the machine. Lately the joystick has been sticking in both the curl and dump function. The joystick will not return to the neutral position, without being put there manually. Raise and lower functions perform as the should.

Is there some lubrication point that I have been missing?

There's a sticker on our loader that says to lube the joystick nothing in the
manual on how to get to it, I'm assuming from underneath, need to lube ours.

I removed the plastic joystick/3pt control cover yesterday in an attempt to figure out how to lubricate the joystick joints. I did not see any actual grease fittings, so I soaked all joints with an aerosol lubricant, while moving the lever in all directions. The lever is still sticking in the tilt positions.

Any thoughts?

I recently added a power beyond circuit to my L3240. Part of that job was taking the joy-stick out and putting a different one in. If you look at the first pivot point (I think its left/right curl up/down) there is one bolt securing it. That bolt passes through a block of metal that has a metal bushing in it. The bushing is supposed to spin freely in there. I could see this bushing getting a bit rusty if conditions were right. If you already have that cover off it wouldn't be too hard to clean it up. Just remember when you put that bolt back in not to tighten it too much or you won't have any pivot. You might try just backing that bolt off a bit too and see if that works.

I'm trying to attach the directions from the power beyond kit that has some pictures. If it does attach look at page 19, it might help.

This evening I will attempt to clean up that bushing and make sure the bolt is not too tight. For what it's worth, the loader was operation perfectly up until the last month or so. I did have an occasion where the tractor was covered in mud and I used the pressure washer to clean it. I guess I could have ended up with too much water in the area of that bushing, and it now having some rust build up.
