Sad to say, but sometimes I don't get to use my tractor (DK50SE w/cab) as much as I'd like. When it sits awhile, the hydro pedal will stick until I work it a bit. Anyone have thoughts on proper lubrication for the 1000 connections that make up the hydro pedal system? Right now, I'm just WD-40ing everything I can find down there as there are absolutely no zerks or obvious lube points. Seems to do the job especially as I do it more but I just was looking for other people's experiences.

Thanks.

I'd hit everything with a thick coat of grease. Might get gummy every few years as it collects contaminants, but it will keep the linkages clean, rust-free, and operating smooth for extended periods of time.

WD40 is great for getting it to loosen up and displace moisture, but then it evaporates leaving nothing behind. Try a dry lube or lithium grease spray...it's also on the same link below the dry lube:

I would not use wd40 if you need long term lubrication. Its not the same stuff as 15 or 20 years ago. Just like what everyone else says, use grease or lithium. I dont think grease would be gummy inside of the HST pedal shaft if it kept out of the rain. I do have a question though - are you sure you dont have a zerk for the HST pedal? Mine does and its hidden under the rubber mat under the little u shape flap. I would check yours to see if it has a greaseable shaft and I am sure it does somewhere.

I was thinking more about dust, grass, and other such things contaminating it and causing it to get gummy when I mentioned that. It would last much longer than WD for sure though.

I had this issue with my CK30, I bought it used and the linkages had never been lubricated. I used Fluid Film a few times, seemed to work good to get it loosened up and leave some sort of lubricant behind. After that, I sprayed things with a spray lithium grease twice a year. I plan on doing the same with my DK40.

I have both a dry lube and a Teflon one. Was planning to try the dry next since the area where all the connections are is in the direct line of mud and water splashing. Grease seems too thick to get where I need to go.

Thanks. I'll report back on the dry lube in a while when I think it is or isn't working.
