Sticker shock for ATV Parts.

The other day I got my Polaris Sportsman ATV really stuck in the deep crusty snow that we have. I had my tractor out so I just picked it up with the FEL and tiedown straps. everything was fine until I sat it back down. I lowered the FEL to far and it hit the brake reservoir and snaped it off. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it costs $200!! For kind of money it should gold plated...

No arguments there..The neighbor and his son locked tires running back to camp during a rain storm...The part costs were unbelievable. On flipped over and messed up the brake resi among huge amounts of plasic parts and switches.

Kawi dealer wanted $27 for a headlight bulb the other day. That's right, $27 for a single bulb.

Kid went in the back and got me the aftermarket version of the same bulb and rang it up at under $4 FOR TWO bulbs.

I always use Bike Bandit for OEM and aftermarket parts for my ATV's, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles. Going to the dealer and being surprised that the parts prices are outrageous doesn't make any sense to me...

My Suzuki ATV was getting a little stiff to shift so I went to the dealer and ordered a new shift cable. The parts guy clicked in his computer and said "uh is yours broken? 'cause it's gonna cost you $120." I lubed it and am living with the stiff shifter.

You can go to this webpage and search a catalog ....you can't buy direct from them but many dealers do.....McDonald ATV

I also search ebay......I have one place I like to buy from local called Johnsons ATV that sells salvaged ATV parts and their new parts are far cheaper then a dealer.....

Yeppers. Cant complain too much though. Theres alot more expensive hobbies/habbits out there.

Search around online.......
I order all my parts there. My local dealer will rape you.
I don't mind paying a little more for parts being local but it's rediculous.
I found a dealer for my brand a couple of states away that makes good deals on OEM parts.
My quad is for fun though, not work.
So, it can sit if it has to.
