Steph and the Goose!!!

Steph and I went for a hike on our trails this morning and finished up at the small pond. While walking around the pond, the Goose swam over and joined us. As we walked around the pond, he followed us for awhile, and even led the way for a bit.

At the house, he joined us on the porch for a snack and to just hang out. After awhile, Steph tried to feed it some bird seed. It's never cared for bird seed, but it did seem to enjoy Stephs hand.

The goose showed up one day a few weeks after I bought the ducks. The ducks are drake Rouens. They all pretty much stick together, except the ducks will swim away when we go to the little pond and the goose doesn't care.

Goosey has been in the front yard before, plus he wonders around the grass along the pond every day. This was the fist time he's fed out of anybodies hand.

We guess he grew up on a farm or somebodies pet. The band on his ankle is blank, so that's of no help.

Nice pics. We have 2 geese down from a high of 5. I don't much care for them. Somebody bestowed them on us quite a while back.

EDDIE, The feathers come out easier if the bird is warm,so put it in a pail of hot water first

I think at some time maybe the goose has seen Steph shooting and is just trying to stay on her good side. Great pictures!

My dad bought me a wooden row boat back in 1948. On the transom was the name.......... DUCK SOUP. I don't know where it came from, but I have a feeling that it might have been from the duck on Groucho Marx program. Does anyone know the name of the duck on that program? I won a lot of beer bets in college with that one.
