Tractor is just over 16 hours old..only had it 2 weeks now( havnt even made a payment yet) and i cant use it due to a hydrolic steering line being pinch between the loader mount brackets..It must have been like that from the factory when they bolted it together because i cant see how it would get in there any other way.. Gonna call the dealer on Monday but is there anything i should say that i might not know about such as needing a tractor while mine is in their shop? Any advice is appreciated. I was in the middle of fixing a road but stopped when i notice the leak. Also the loader hydraulics started to chatter and it was when i was looking for a dipstick or fill point for the hydraulics i noticed the leak.( speaking of which where the heck is the dipstick for the hydraulics and where is the fill point? I see one on the rear axle but is this the fill point also? My last ford had a front mount pump and separate reservoir.

Thanks again guys..got a picture of it but it may be hard to tell where the line is pinched and leaking..

Probably something they can do right there. I'd expect them to be there with the new line before Monday is over. If the company has an answering machine, I'd want it to be the first thing they hear when they get there tomorrow. Mine is a 40** series, so I don't know the run on that line. My steering lines also run behind the loader mount but are free and wrapped to prevent chafing. I see no place for them to be caught like that. My loader mount doesn't look like your picture.

I popped a bucket hose in the first days with my R4010 and had a hose the next day. I had a friend going to town, but I believe they'd have brought me one if it hadn't worked out that way.

I suppose most of the failures would be sourced out within the very first hours of the tractor..sounds like they treated you well...

I just got off the phone with the dealer and to my surprise they were at work today for a promo and answered the phone....they are going to come out on Monday while i am at work and fix it. I was already very impressed with how well the tractor worked ( even tho i was a bit nervous about the leaking hydraulics until i found the source of the problem) and now another plus for the dealer!..

Great news. Leave some goodies out for them. The inspector who signed off on it should be getting a lump of coal next Christmas. And he'll be looking for the guy who put the loader on (it rolls downhill, don'cha know).

hydraulic hoses seems to be a problem with LS, my 4020 had a leak at a coupler the frist couple of hours i put on the tractor. The dealer was out the very next morning to fix it, and havent had a problem sence . The dealer tec. told me that they forgot to secure the hose to the frame which allow it to rub against the coupler. Short game is right about the finial inspector, he has to catch things like that .

Loving our LS 5020c -AND Affordable Tractors in Dublin, VA
we also noticed a leak - at about 20 hours - one of the hydraulic lines was spraying fluid up under the cab. Being newbies, we didn't operate the FEL when looking for the source of the leak - so we thought it was the power steering or a return line or the AC - anything but the hydraulic connectors - because the fluid was on the bottom corner of the cab
We were putting hay in the barn - so we kept going - Monday we hauled to the dealer.
They checked it thoroughly - tightened the fittings - pressure washed the tractor - put in almost 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid - (the hydraulic level check and fill is in the back - it's a black dipstick - half way between the back connectors and the axle) then operated it in the lot -and then rechecked for leaks. Then taught us how to secure the tractor on the trailer quickly and safely. (A service call would have only cost $60 - but we learned a lot hanging at the shop for a little while. And making friends with the service department can't hurt.) All done in a hour and a half - Except the hauling.
We're now at 35 hours and no further issues.
