I changed the fuel filter for my Cub Cadet Diesel 7260. Now it will start but it will lose power as though it is getting no fuel.
Also what is the purpose of the round cylinder shaped gadget with one wire running to it? It is just past the fuel filter housing , connected inline to the fuel line. As you can see I don't know a whole lot about diesel engines. THANKS for any help with my problem.

That is one of the fuel pumps. After changing the filter, did you loosen the bleeder screws on the shutoff to get the air out of the system? Right on the shutoff itself, there are two philips screws, after the fitler is changed, you loosen one until the cup fills and then the same with the other. If you didn't do this, then you have air in the fuel lines and it will be hard to keep running. Let me know, and i'll tell you what to do from there.
