Last fall I cracked a fuel filter bowl and replaced it. Trying to get it started after adding fuel, the starting system quit working after cranking the motor a few times. I would turn the key and get nothing. I replaced the neutral safety switch on the column shifter and got a click when turning the starter on. I then replaced the starter believing I had a bad solenoid but I still only get a click when I try to engage the starter. Anyone have an idea what I should do next?

The machine has 1,800 hours on it and I don't remember how old it is as I bought it used. It is equipped with a FEL and a cab.

Have you checked your battery that it is good or needs charging? Just throwing new parts at the problem, can get expensive. You could have had your original starter tested.

L4200 only has 2 safety interlock switches in the starter circuit: One on the pto lever and one on the shuttle lever.
You can bypass Both of those & check your starter by temporary-Momentarily jumping from the Large terminal on the starter solenoid to the small terminal on that solenoid... CAUTION if the tractor is in any gear with the shuttle in F or R your tractor will start and move, possibly running over You or others....
Love my Cab L4200. KennyV

The battery is fully charged and had a battery charger on it when I was trying to start it. The starter solenoid never chattered like low voltage. One time the starter was turning over the moter and the next time I turned the key I got nothing.

I replaced the shuttle interlock already as it was staying open and rarely closing when the lever was in the neutral position. I'll try to bypass the PTO interlock this weekend.

I would check and clean the cable connections on the battery and chassis ground. Solenoid and starter connections should be good since you just replaced them.
