Dedicated tractor wives will allow their husband to duct tape them under the tractor so they hang under there while he drives it to get an accurate location for the noise (don't forget to wear your helmet, burn protection and other OSHA required safety gear). Is there oil in the front axle (I hope...). More symptoms would help. Does it do it in 2wd or 4wd only? When you're going straight or only turning sharply, fast or slow? Have you checked whether a rock has wedged itself between the edge of the tire and some part of the tractor, maybe the rock is embedded in a hunk of mud that's dried somewhere.
