New Holland t1510
Hey guys, I have a 1998 New Holland t1510 that I bought used with 200 hours. Im wondering if it is normal to get a squawk or squelch for a second or two when pressing on the HST pedal. It disappears almost immediately while accelerating and everything seems to be working properly. Does it in forward and reverse and seems to be a little bit louder when in HIGH gear. Fluid is topped up and clean.

That's normal, just the tractor telling you that you are trying to take off too suddenly. If you've ever heard the squealing from "crowding the power steering' on an older vehicle because you turned the steering wheel too far against the stops; it's the same thing. Try not pushing so hard on the pedal at first, or shift into a lower range if it doesn't subside. You might also consider changing the fluid and especially the hydraulic filter if you don't know how long since it was done.

I have a New Holland TC45DA and it will "squawk or squelch" if I push to hard on the go pedals as well. Like Jstpssng said ease up on the go pedals when starting. I'm coming up on 1000 hrs and my dealer has suggested changing the trans fluid at 1200 hrs. I do change the filters every year though.

It could also be you are in to high of a gear. Granted you can't start in a lower gear for roading or other high speed work. But you generally want to be in medium or low range to do any work. Which will minimize the squeal of the relief valve popping open.

Same thing happens on new hydrostatic steering systems at idle rpms when you are crowding the pump by turning too fast.
