2010 Kubota BX1860
I am getting ready to order a new Kubota 1860 with the FEL and was wondering; has anyone used spray-on bedliner products to protect the bucket?
Yes, I has some serious OCD issues, but i do enjoy taking great pride in maintaining a clean machine.
So, I was thinking of getting the inside of my front end loader coated. This way I can still use it like it's intended BUT still protect it.
Any thoughts on why I should not do it?

My opinion is to leave it alone. Bedliner protector is non skid so I think it will give you grief with mud or damp dirt even snow. Let it scratch and repaint it when it suits you. Just my 2cents.

Oh No... I feel another tractor waxing discussion pending.

Seriously, Keep the tractor looking good. Protect the tractors paint, keep it clean but there are two things that I think is alright to get dirty. One is the tire treads and the other is the bucket. It is amazing how much dirt the bucket can move and not show much for wear.

A waste of money, imho. I know you'll want to keep your shiny new Bota looking shiny, but if you're gonna use it, it WILL GET scratched up. After you get that first scratch or two on it, the rest aren't as painful LOL.

Just consider the bucket disposable, like fuel. You use up fuel and you will use up the bucket. Then you don't have to worry as much. I met a guy who was basically afraid to use any tool he had. It might make them wear out. Why have if you don't use it.

Exactly...I keep my BX clean and waxed. I use the FEL and BH alot. Surprisingly, the bucket paint holds up very well, even after moving tri-axle loads of limestone.

I really wouldn't worry about it.

I agree. I think the best practice is to touch up all wear surfaces, like the inside of the bucket, with a good quality spray paint once a year. I do mine in the fall after a good year of use. And, like someone else says, the paint holds up surprisingly well. I've got about 150 hours on my FEL and moved a lot of dirt, rocks and gravel with it, and it still looks very good, considering.

If you want something to occupy your OCD, buy a '71 'Cuda convertible!!

I would think the liner product would chip on the edge if you use like it is intended.

Buy two Kubota 1860's; one for work and one to look at.

Yep, it wont hold up, it will wear and most likely peel. Worse case is buy a new bucket down the road. Mine looks like it was used, dings, dents, paint worn off, but hey it is a tool and I look at every scratch and just think of how much work and time it saved me and it is all worth it
