Just bought a New T1110 Hyro, and I have a Question on the single brake pedal, can it be converted to a split brake pedal? I have used the split brake system on my Old JD420 when plowing snow and it did a great job of keeping the machine straight when the front wheel would not.

The T1110 ( w/o FEL) is a bit light and there have been a couple of times where a split brake system would have been helpful.

Thought Ideas?

Cheers

I doubt conversion is possible...

From What I can tell, the single pedal works an axle to link both brakes together installing a second pedal on a sleve should work to have a split brake option. My question is did NH make a left side Split setup in the earlier machines?

I know your frustration.
Have heard of adding disk brakes to each rear wheel axle, with cable connection to hand levers for braking a spinning wheel. Was going to go that route, but when I went to all-wheel-steer the need for individual brakes was reduced considerably. Positraction helps that now.
(and to add to the frustration, CUT's are sold with HST that have individual rear brakes, but render them useless by putting them on the same side as the forward/reverse pedals -- go figure :) )

My 3910 has a split (dual) brake pedal. They can also be locked together, as they should be for higher speed travel. You might check the parts listings and see how the 3910 does it.

Ops. Sorry, wrong era tractor.

Reason for asking is a simple one I have a long road to plow inthe winter and with the ole JD I could brake one wheel to help keep the machine pointed straight. I can invision the same thing happening with the NH even with the 500# weight increase over the JD. Other issue is with a tiller mounted the front gets a bit light even with two suitecase weights mounted. Split rear brakes would help control the direction in these cases.
The 1110 has a left side brake pedal hooked to a transvers shaft that links the two side together, it would seam to me that adding a second pedal on the same shaft thru a bushing arrangement should work. I guess a little fabracation is inorder.... maybe I'll design it as a kit for all those who might be interested.

Stay tuned more to follow.

Cheers
