I have a GT245 with 500 hours on it (just bought used). I just replaced the primary belt (going from the PTO clutch to the deck) because the original belt started squeaking when I engaged the PTO. I've kept the original belt as a spare.
I'm planning on also buying a new secondary belt and keeping the original as a spare.
Should I do the same with the traction drive belt? Or is this belt generally subjected to less stress and therefore having a spare Traction Drive belt not necessary? I'm assuming this belt is original to the tractor (500 hours). What's the life expectancy of a traction drive belt?
