Rake Southern Farm Supply Landscape Rake

Drove 125 miles to SFS in Union Grove, NC yesterday to pick up a 5' landscape rake. The salesman I had spoken to on the telephone yesterday morning had neglected to check inventory and they were sold out of 5 footers when I arrived. I'm not impressed with that salesman, but I would like opinions on the no-name rakes that they carry. The 4 and 6 footers were in stock and they looked well made for the price.

The ones in stock are essentially the same as the one pictured, but the tines are now single-holed and are retained by a support plate running the length of the bottom of the angle iron. The salesman said the 5ft. rake weighs 245lbs. Anybody have one?

Cripes, you should have driven a little further and looked at Everything Attachments' (ETA) factory in Newton, N.C.

I have an ETA six footer and it is better than good, it is excellent.

Under draft force I would be suspicious of the tendency of single hole tines to move out of alignment.

With Landscape Rakes, like other ground contact implements, weight is your friend.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I called Everything Attachments first, as Newton is much closer to me than Union Grove and they make great equipment. But they are 2-3 weeks out filling new orders and I really can't wait at the moment. I'd still be interested in hearing from anybody who's used one of Southern Farm Supply's rakes. In the meantime I bought something from Tractor Supply to hold me over. 5 foot rakes are currently in high demand.
