My tractor started doing something I've never seen before. Soot has started blowing out around the vents in the hood (cowling) of the engine and got all over the tractor (and me!) before I decided to take it to the dealership. The tractor had the full 50-hour service done on it right on time and had been used bush hogging about seven hours when I first started noticing the soot. The first place it showed-up was on the wheels--both front and back. The motor seems to run absolutely perfectly and I'm using the same brand and source of fuel that I've always used in my machinery. I guess I'll find out from the dealership in the next day or two if they can find anything wrong. By the way, there didn't seem to be any soot blowing out at the exhaust manifold itself, and the tractor didn't smoke when they put it under a heavy load. I'm puzzled.
