Snow Somewhat disappointed with 47 inch snow blower

Just thought I'd add that I also have the 47 blower and don't have the problem you describe. I too assembled mine after receiving in a crate from the dealer.

One problem I had with the 47" this winter but probably not related to this one is that the shear pin that connects the auger to the blower stage kept shearing. Even with 1-2" of snow the thing would shear before I could get the whole driveway clear. Turns out that the piece that holds the blower stage in kept moving forward. They said that they've had a few problems with that, just because the metal in the shaft is so hard that the set screws don't really dig in. Brought it down to the dealer and they cut a small notch in the shaft to keep the set screws in place. Haven't sheared one since.

Thanks for all the responses! The one thing I am sure of now is that something is not adjusted properly. I'll be stopping by my dealer in the next week to discuss it with him and let everyone know what I find out. Thanks again to everyone for the response.

Up here in Canada guys put "Belting" on the augers.
This apparently greatly improves the "feeding" of snow into the 2nd stage.

If you try it, let us know how it works out.
I am wanting to do the same thing, so shall appreciate hearing about it, if you do it first.

Maybe the flights(auger) are installed on the wrong sides (yes there is a left and a right.) This seems unlikely but can somtimes happen.Have an asistant operate the blower wile you watch . the spiral afect should pull the snow to the center and into the impeller.
