I worked all my life. Paid taxes and ss. Got sick in '09. Bone cancer. Still kickin along. Ss disability. Im 60 years old now. Gonna ride it to the end. Make a few more gardens,a few more hunting seasons.play with the grandkids.got no money. No retirement. No regrets. Never killed anybody. Pretty good life, all things considered. Wish you all well. Peace and love. Dave.

I love the no regrets line. Most people can't say that. Sorry to hear about the cancer, it sucks. None of us came with a guarantee on outcome and longevity. It is good to see someone that embraces the past, present, and future with the same acceptance of time and place.

Wow. I mean wow. That is so sweet of you, seabee.
just to be clear,i was'nt fishing for sympathy or trying to make anyone feel bad.
i really enjoy reading all of your posts and get lots of good ideas and advice from them. I hope i did'nt come off as whining, either. Prayers are always appreciated,of course. I do'nt want you guys to feel sorry for me because i do not feel sorry for myself. On the other hand,i'm really glad to know that you care.
i do feel blessed to be in your company.

Dave, it is not a case of feeling sorry for you, it is all about recognizing your fortitude and desire for life and the fact you accept what God has decided. I have always said, what comes will come and I cannot control the outcome so I might as well be happy and pass on to my family and friends a positive attitude before I pass, as I cannot do it after. God Bless and Keep.

Dave, you're doing a great job of playing the cards you've been dealt, and setting a fine example the rest of us can only hope to measure up to.

Best of luck in this new year.
