My ugly Kub
L285 was $1400, running ~900 hrs, rusty, no lights, rough tires, but in 18 mnths I've only replaced one, and it was a front. One of the front rims has a Kub center welded up to a donor outer rim. I've ment to paint it, and I've got 75% of the sheet metal primed grey, making it look kinda like a pygmy Ford 8N. It of coarse had zero brakes when I bought it, but I've broken them free and now there is some braking power (no brakes isn't so unusual on tractors/equipment). Think I've spend $25 on the tire, $50 between engine oil and hydralic fluid. Cannibalized an old lawn tractor battery cable.for it. Oh, and $29 TSC primer, and $11 for HF hvlp gun.
I should note that this was a semi-dealer purchase(part time mechanic, seller, not a seller of semi trucks) He buys from the not running row at the local auction and either gets them running, parts them out, or cannibalizes them to get others running.
