Hello All,

I'm a newbie in Southern California. About to retire, :D bought a 5 acre orchard in the Antelope Vally area that's going to need a tractor. I'm looking at John Deere and Kubota since they're the only locals. Getting excited about the prospects and hope to meet many friends and share ideas about tractors and other things.

I have about 5 1/2 acres of peach trees, most of them dry and dead. Plan to cut & pull them for firewood and replant.

I don't know much about the root system of peach trees but pulling stumps with a tractor, unless really big, is more difficult than many expect. Consider taking the trees down stump and all by cutting the roots and pushing the tree down. Gravity is your friend in that type of situation.
