I finally gathered up most of the parts to get my snowplow finished. I have the mounting plate takced together and Im trying to figure out where to attach it to the plow frame.

I would like to keep the overall length as short as possible. Right now, I have it positioned as in the pic just behind the lift handles (i assume thats what they are). I plan on adding a center brace from the top of the attachement plate to the center of the plow frame. As shown by the black, bent tie rod in the pic.
Would there be any problems with moving the plate further forward (say in front of the handles) to keep the length even shorter? I will have to account for clearance for the pistons but thats not a problem.
My fear is that the closer the plate gets to the plow, there will be more twisting or bending force on the welds holdig the plate to the frame.

I'm at about the same place, although I don't have the hydraulic setup on the old plow I have. I am welding tabs for the plow to attach to the QA plate. I'll pin the plow to the plate, to allow up/down (float) and use a chain from the plow frame to the top of the plate. Otherwise I think you are going to have to float your FEL. My approach really pushes the plow out (assuming you use the existing attach points that I see in your picture). But it may be the safest way to make the attachment.

Good luck,

Thanks, thats just what I was going to do.
My QA frame is made with a C channel bottom member. I think im gonna cut the plow frame and sit the two arms inside the C-channel. That way the QA plate is pushing on the frame and the welds just hold it there. The other way, I would be relying on my welds to hold the thing together.
Now if I could just get the dealer to call with my parts to hook it to the loader arms.
