Have a Kubota L3400 - no FEL.... Rear blade works great for removing snow but my neck hurts. Have been toying around with the idea of fabricating a front mount to hold a 72 inch UTV blade.
My question is this:
Does anyone think the front bumper would be strong enough to handle the blade and weight of the snow?? Or should I make my bracket attach on the side where the FEL arms attach??
A utv/atv mount attaches to roughly 1 inch frame tubing, which is apparently strong enough in those applications.
What do ya'll think??

One thing to consider, your L3400 is going to push a lot harder on the blade and it's supports than a UTV or ATV.

Might want to think about a FEL. Just got off the PH. with my cousin in Nicholas County to check in on things and said they already have over 2 1/2 with atleast another FT.or more in the forcast.
Something tells me your gonna have a awful sore neck for a couple of more days:eek: Just joken

True about the additional force on the plow and push tubes. I thought about building my own push tubes out of schedule 40 2 inch square tubing (the draw bar stuff) I don't weld, but some good friends of mine do. It is crazy the amount of money these companies want for a set of push tubes!!!

And yep, my neck is gonna be pretty sore. I have an Arctic Cat 400 4wd with a cycle country plow on. It does great up to about 6-7 inches. Much more than that, I resort to the Kubota.

I ponder the idea on my L2800,but after looking close bumper design decided not to..strenght of bumper plus no bracket support top on top main reason.

Do a search in the build it yourself and attachment section and you'll find several of these that have been done. Most of them, myself included, have used old truck plows modified to fit. Here's a few to start. Edit:ater re-reading I see you don't have a loader but some of them on here have mounted to the frame.

If you do build one, I'd want the frame to go back to the loader mounts. I doubt either the ATV/UTV plow or the bumper mounts would stand the strain.

The 3400 I have with wheel chains will push pretty hard in heavy snow.

You'd probably be ok with light fluffy stuff, but the ATV you have will handle that stuff already.
