Hey, check out the snow plow build done by Smoreau for his 125 that is posted in the "build it yourself" forum. Awesome job...

I built this plow because I could not wait for them to make one. Its made from a section of a old fuel tank 4 foot in diameter and 1/4 inch thick and a bunch of drop steel from my local metal shop. Cylinders are from Surplus Center and. The couplings and flow restrictors are from Dixion Hydraulics. Spent a lot of time looking and comparing on different blades from other sub compacts and I really think Kabotas blade would fit just fine with only minor modifications. But with me being a fabricator and master mechanic by trade, I could not bring my self to just buying one. The blade 60" wide and that took a lot of time thinking as for snow the MT125 would be able to handle a 72" with no problem, but I wanted to use it for dirt also. So I added some lock pins for pushing dirt so the blade wouldn't fold forward making it more like a dozer blade for summer use. Springs are from a miner truck blade and every thing else is home built. Most of the blade is built like a XJ blade. Here are some of the fabing pics

The next set of pus shows the blade and the mount for the tractor. The wear edge is 1/2 x 6" hot roll. This I did not get as a drop but was fairly priced. I thought about going to a hardened edge that was burned out of some heavy duty plate made for a wear edges, but I didn't see the need and this is cheaply replaced. I stated out with ford blue oil base and then went to a close match blue enamel paint for the top coat. The tractor mount is made from 1/4 inch plate and 1/2 plate. Its a little over kill but the drops were cheap. Cylinders are a inexpensive line that I picked up from Surplus Center that should last a long time and seals are avalible almost any wear. Blade has no articulation as most of my drive is nice and flat. So no need to make it pivot. Pivot mount is made from a 2" piece of round stock with a 3/4" pivot pin. Pivot mount is made from 3" x 1/4 " tube and also has 3/4" pivot pins.

Blade takes about 10 min to install the mount and blade. Not as fast as what the blade that LS will be making avalible, but good enough for me as I only have $450 into this compared from what I heard dealer price will be around $2500

I also built a hydraulic yard dump trailer , quick on and off logging forks for the loader bucket and a cart for the BH. I am in the planning stages of building a cab that will fit in a 7" tall garage that will also replace the existing rops. All windows and doors will be removable. But that will be next summer before that will be started.

Very impressive! Looks like you bought it at the dealer.

An absolutely amazing build and I know it works perfectly. I have a small snow blade for my JD Sabre lawn tractor and it does the job but the machine is just not heavy enough to move anything more then a dusting. I've tried pushing a little snow with my MT125 bucket and some "edge tamers" and that's an okay solution but what you built here is the very best way to go. Do you have little feet on it that hold the blade just off the ground?
Very nice job and thanks for sharing your handy work!!

That is a very nice build. How much do you think it cost for everything?

Steel prices here are so expensive its pointless to building anything from new steel that you can buy already built.

I have $450 into it. Only used piece was the curved part of the blade from a old fuel tank. The rest was abut $50 in drops and about $50 in cut to size steel. $300 in cylinders, fittings, and hoses. And $50 into the flap and bolts. About 40 hours of my time and I feel that was well spent.
