Greetings!

I posted a couple of years ago about adding a snow plow to an RTV. I cannot seem to find any of threads where people were talking about it.

I have found this: Plow Attachement for Kubota RTV 900 at All Terrain Online

I'm wondering if it is as easy to attach as they say and what kind of electrical I might need to hook up.

I'd appreciate anyone's input.

Thanks,

Alan

so looking at this

you actually think pushing 6' of snow on a 2" reciver.... that
1) the 2" tube will hold up to the side loads
2) the hitch will hold up to the side loads?

it would be much more beliveable for a 3-4' wide blade... but SIX FEET! thats the size of plow you'd mount INFRONT of a full size truck and youve seen how beafy they connect.....

i shure wouldnt buy it

I have 33 years living in the State of Maine and I would believe 1 inch of powder snow and nothing more, This thing is asking to bend??
I think a shovel strapped to the front would do better..

i didnt relize that ATV type plows only connected via a single 1.25 or 2" style hitch.

i thought they had a scaled down triangled mount simular to a full size truck plow.

i would not spend any money on a plow that pushes snow that connects via a single point (either 1.25 or 2" tube) in the middle.

I just had the Kubota plow installed on my RTV. It's part # V4208. Works great. It's a 6' Curtis plow. The up/down is an electric switch. The right-left is hydraulic, from the dump-bed controls. I really like how it plows. Haven't plowed more than 6" with it yet, but very friendly to use. Seems very strong. Pretty easy to disconnect (not quite as easy as today's top-end truck systems, but takes only a few minutes). The bracket is very sturdy - not a single-point receiver mount.

Since the plow is 72", what would take 2 passes with an 8' plow on a truck takes 3 passes. But, it's much better than the 5' plows on many ATVs. And the convenience of the hydraulic right/left control is awesome. My only complaint is the up/down toggle is mounted below left of the steering wheel. Since I'm frequently feathering the up/down on my gravel drive, I'm going to find a better place to mount that. Hand-held, or on the steering wheel might be the best.

I've ordered chains for the RTV, but I'm not sure I'll need them. The RTV is plenty strong, the front end drops a bit when I raise the plow, but not too much. And, with the engine over the rear wheels I don't feel the need for ballast (yet) the way I would in my pick-up truck.
