I have zero experience with 3 point snow blowers, I found a 7 foot Arps twin auger blower looks to be in good condition owner says it works good. Will my tractor handle it or should I keep using my snow pusher? I thought if I ever pave the driveway a blower would be a lot friendlier to the surface plus no banks. The tractor has roughly 35 pto horsepower with hst transmission.

Besides the horse power requirements you need to consider the blower weight and the distance the weight is from the 3pt hitch otherwise even if you can lift it, the front wheels of the tractor may be off the ground. You need to consider the height of the pto at the blower versus the height of your pto shaft. A pto shaft running at much of an angle has a short life.
Take the time to look through the Smyth Blower technical document as it has a lot of info on pto shaft angles.

I think you can manage the blower power wise by being careful. I would remove the upper auger to reduce weight and parasitic power loss as you could never run the blower with both augers fully in the snow as your power availability is marginal. The HST will be a help to match the blower to the power.

Thanks Dave, you post some really good points I had never thought of. I wish I knew the weight of the blower, but I think it would just too much for my tractor. Money would be better spent on a new one sized for the tractor.
