Any suggestions for a rear-mount blower for 3-pt. hitch on BX2200? 48" or 52" ? Pros and cons?

Thanks in advance.

There are many good brands out there. There has been many recent posts regarding opinions about them. As far as size goes, it depends a lot on how much snow you get at a time. But either of the sizes you mentioned would be fine. There are some that run up to 60" blowers on your size tractor. When you have time, use the search feature above and search for snow blower. You will find many opinions as to what are the favorite brands. Oh, and welcome to TBN.

Thanks for the quick response. Just trying to educate myself here. Seems like there aren't many 48" available; 52" seems more common, and am probably leaning more towards that size.. I don't want to overload my tractor. 60" for sure is more than I want.
Thanks.

I know Econor by Normand have a 48". Don't wait, could already be too late, you would be surprise by the unavailability at this time of the year (at least in my area).

I wouldn't disregard a 60" blower for that BX. I use one on my BX2350 and it has handled it fine the last two winters. It's not too often that the entire blower is filled but the times that it as been I've still been able to move through it at a moderate pace. The nice thing about a wider blower is less chance of the front tires running into the unblown snow.

Nothing wrong with a rear blower but why not consider a front blower ????????
You don't need to sit side ways on your seat all the time or back everywhere you go

Just a thought !!!
Good luck and be safe

My BX doesn't have the hydraulics set up, which is why i got a good deal on it. Too expensive to hook up the hydraulics after-the-fact, otherwise I would certainly consider a front blower.

Thanks.

I have a Loftness 48" 3ph snowblower, purchased March 2009 for use on a BX2350. It was new in 1993 or 1994. Excellent condition and very well built. I understand that Loftness dropped the 48" model in 2009.

Another manufacturer that is well regarded here in Northern New York is Smyth, out of Canada. Our local Kubota dealer has sold a load of them over the past ten years, with no complaints (so I am told).

I wish you well in finding what you need.

Hi
I run a 60" rear mount Walco Meteor blower on my BX1830 with no trouble powerwise and the little extra width gives me a bit of wiggle room around places
The only thing I don't like as some here have stated it's a pain in the neck if you prolong the experience so I take coffee breaks and a Tylenol if needed
Regards
DGS

I sort of just sit 'side saddle' and generally blow for about 3 hours.
No problems, no stiff neck. You kinda get used to it, I guess.
For sure you want the blower to be wider than your wheel tracks, that is a must.
I use a 60" and my wheels are 48" and that on a 19 hp CUT gear drive tranny.
(and we often get 16" dumpings), just take smaller bites, or if hydro drive , go slower but keep the RPMS up.
