Today's the day! We got about 3 inches of wet snow overnight, with a chance of more this afternoon. I can't wait to get home and plug the tractor in to warm it up.

This will be a milestone day for me as I'm going to attempt to plow snow for the first time with:

* 6' snow bucket and 6' box blade
* 330# WW Fluid in each rear tire
* No tire chains, and GASP! - R-4 Tires

I'd like to think that almost 6000# of FWA tractor loader would not struggle in this task

I'm pretty sure it will be uneventful, but very satisfying.

Luv using that tractor...

Hard to believe it, but a couple weeks back we had an entire week that tickled the upper 60's, low 70's. It was pretty cold over the weekend (single digits) The ground is now frozen pretty hard by me, so unless it gets unseasonably warm, we should have snow until spring.

Late November has been a typical time for us to get snow that stays though, not at all unusual...

I'll post on the results tomorrow!

You won't have any trouble. I didn't and my tires aren't filled. Unless of course you have a steep grade to clear. Have fun:D

Tractor did great!

I must be part of the 10% of guys who are successfull, despite my R-4's

:D

It spun its tires a couple times where it was particularly slick (as in I got off the tractor to see how slick, and promptly fell on my butt), but managed to quickly gain traction and move on. I think I'm going to like moving snow this winter, even more than usual!

I wish!

Most of the snow went SE of us. We got about 2" that I'll deal with when I get home tonight.

I'd just as soon be dealing with the 8 - 10" that others got during the overnight.

How's the weather down there?

I'm going to be in DC from the 10th - 16th...

We are only expecting maybe 2 inches in the mountains. Its supppose to stop by tommorow noon and be almost 50 on Wednesday. Then in the 40's and rain the rest of the week

Just nasty enough to keep you inside. I built a couple of sheds onto my garage/ workshop and have been trying to finish things up. Its usually dark when I get home and only leaves weekends to do anything

I hear you...I think they should pro-rate the workday as daylight hours get shorter in the fall / winter. That way we could all work 4 hour days this time of year, and have plenty of daylight left to futz around...
