After a long hiatus, I finally had a couple hours to use my tractor. I'd been running the brush hog for about an hour when I started smelling burnt rubber and smoke started to puff out from under the hood. The engine lugged down and she nearly stalled. It looks like my alternator has frozen up and the belt was just slipping and burning. Of course this was just about dusk and I didn't have any tools with me so I parked it for the night.
Before shutting down I looked under the hood and the fan was still turning and the belt for the alternator was not. This is a clear case of bad alternator right? :irked:
Thanks in advance.
