Well,
The first mowing in my corner of the defrosting and muddy eastern wilderness at 1,140 feet above mean sea level is done but not fiinished.
The issue of 4 months of Mud has reared its ugly head once more on my mountain and the
Municipal Great White Fathers and their DOT Gradall will will not arrive on the mountain before the middle of June or so they say.
The only thing I hate worse than truck fishing with a wrecker is tractor fishing with a mud up to my knees using a thirty foot chain and a truck to pull it out with.
Hopefully they will show up to dig out the neigbors collapsed culvert and solve my
drainage issue, which I have been trying to have removed for 6 plus years.
Or the power of the pen will be used again to contact the
Greater White Fathers with regard to this.
It was bad enough that they have not been taking care of the drainage here and last winter I had the water back up to the top of the road above my hunting grounds and then flood almost thirty foot from the road up the drive way almost to my lamp post.
The salting of the road also created an ice dam over a foot thick that day and the Little great White Father AKA Highway Boss just drove by and looked and drove on without stopping to talk to use as WE were breaking up their ICE dam to enable us to exit the driveway. needless to say an ambulance would never have be able to enter the hunting ground next to the TeePee.
You gotta love living on state highway (I dont).
Yes, I know I could move but it would cost me much more to live somewhere else.
No, I could not afford a four wheel drive mule four years ago.
My rant is done and I feel a bit better so......
