Small Leak on FEL - Hydraulic newbie - Help......

Hello,



I have a small leak on a connector on my new tractor's FEL. I have attached 2 images of the connector and honestly don't know anything about hydraulics but am more than willing to learn.

I have tried tightening it as much as I can which has slowed it but it hasn't stopped.

Do I need to drain the system to undo it and try reseating it or some threadlock or does each connector self seal on removal?

Do I need to refill the system as I am losing fluid from the leak?

I don't want to unleash a whole world of highly pressurised fluid issues my way so would like some help or advice or explanation, anyone know of any websites with info to learn from?

If you have NPT threads, you can use some Loctite 542.

If JIC, it should pull up tight, but if not, there is seal washer that inserts in the fitting.

You only to fill the hyd system if low when warm.

After your tractor is off, wiggle the levers for the circuit you will be servicing.

If a tractor sits in the hot sun, a cyl may build up some pressure.

When removing hyd fittings, use a rag to absorb any fluid.

There are plenty of websites to learn about hyd. Just type in the work you are looking for and many sites will show. Then pick, choose and learn.

The only thing that will self seal is QD's, quick disconnects.
