Wish I would have thought about "before" photos. Not a huge project, but figured some one may like to see it. I built the sign about 3 months ago and have started the fence last week, between rains. Country church, so a country fence:D
Lumber is rough cut electric power line poles I get from a saw mill in Sunset Texas (Stice Sawmill) A bit harder to get things straight , but will last longer than cedar. End post are 6" square, line post are 4", each 36" deep. Runners are 1"x4". I will try to get a better photo later, I was beat when I took these:laughing:

Nice fence. Never saw so many telephone poles in a rural area, maybe there's some kind of secret air force base that needs a lot of power.

Power on one side and cable TV/phone on the other.

You got that right! We even tried to get the power co. to move some, or consolidate them, but they said we'd have to pay several k to get it done. It is a ridiculous, redundant mess there and the condition of them makes a guy wonder who is in charge of those lines.. Notice the "lean"? crazy.

That doesn't count for the buried lines either, you can see the markings in the 1st photo. Another buried telephone line, water main and several gas field transfer lines. I wish I had left the marking flags!! With all the colored flags it looked like Walt Disney threw up there, or it was a used car lot:D

I still have the entrance to finish out, slab and rock work like I did on the sign. Have road base being delivered Monday, so at least I'll have half a day in the tractor seat:thumbsup:

Good looking fence! I like the power poles idea.

Nice project. Nice looking sign also. I like how you mounted the posts surrounded by the blocks.

Thanks guy's!

I was told about the saw mill by TBN member Jinman a few years back and it has been a great resource. Much cheaper than Cedar here and should outlast everything except maybe steel.
