So, does anybody else find the 2520 (or similar) loader lever/valve linkage to be a little sloppier than it could be? Has anybody tried shimming up some of the play in the linkage pivot points? I noticed this on my tractor and on the other tractors that the dealer had on the lot. No big deal, just seems like it could be much tighter and positive. I can shine a light down there and see where some of the slop is coming from, but I was wondering if anybody has gone down the road of trying to "tune" it with shims, etc. There's a few cotter pins and stuff in there.

I looked at it the other day, the slop is in the holes as much as anywhere so shimming it isn't really all that practical. You would need to rebuild it with tighter tolerances. The 2000 and 3000 are like that, I bet the 4000 is too.

I actually prefer the smallest slop, for the occasional brush of my jeans against the stick with nothing happening. Good design.

My 4110 has had the floppy stick syndrome since new...I have though about machining larger pins or bushing the holes a few times, but I always have much more pressing problems to tackle first. If it ain't broke don't fix it:thumbsup:
