Just another sad story, as a warning for all to be carefull. I know the owner of the farm. He went home to find out this happened. I saw him Friday and he was pretty shaken. I didn't ask any further details than are in the article.

I don't know the family but, can imagine their devastation. Please be careful.

Rule #1 with skid steers: Don't get out of the seat while the bucket is raised.

Dave,

Apparently very good advise!

Very sad. When I was a kid, my best friend's brother-in-law was killed when he got off a skid steer. Apparently the bucket was raised a bit and something caused the thing to move forward and pin him to a dirt pile. He died in a helicopter on the way to a hospital, leaving a wife and four young ones.

Be safe out there folks. It only takes one lapse of judgement. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thank goodness skid steers nowa days have a cutoff that lock the pedals, and the sticks to prevent this.
