skid foundation for cabin ?

I am wanting to build a skid foundation for a 12x20 cabin, actaully I will be mounting a metal carport and enclosing it on top of the foundation. I plan on using 6x6" for the skids and 2x8's/3/4" plywod for the foundation. How far apart do you need to go on the skids? Will using 2 skids work?

It would depend on soil conditions
Most roll off sheds that wide would have 4 4x4 PT runners under them.
but the sight would have to bee level and solid.

4 or 6 piers would be my choice

insulate the floor with foam right away (I used /3/4 and wished i went heavier)

my cabin 36x 32 is on 16 piers 8x8x16 block stacked alternated rebar in center and filled up with concrete

I drive nails in side ways in to the joists anout 1/2" down 4 or 5 on a side in 4' laid panel down put glue on joists and panel laid down and nailed her fast

Its level ground, sandy soil.

So I would be better off using 4x4's and using 6 piers?
I do plan putting concret blocks under the piers, I am think ing 8' spacing on the blocks...would that work?

In my county there is no realestate tax on buidings with skids.
I found this out the hard way and i paid taxes on a building that wasn't taxable for years .
Beware of your county.
