Kubota B2650
I've been a lurker here for awhile, but now I need some advice. I'm going to upgrade my BX to either a B2650 or B2601. Performance wise, either will work. The 2650 may just do it a little quicker. Most of my work is in the woods, so size is what's really important.

I've seen the physical sizes and compared the dimensions. There isn't a significant difference between the two, but that doesn't always translate into real world usage. Sometimes small differences can really change the feel of a tractor.

So with that said, does anyone have any experience with the size difference between the B2650 and B2601? I know the 2601 is new, so even a comparison between the B20s and B3200 would help since they are essentially the same sizes as the B01s and B50s.

Thanks for any help and/or advice.

I've been thinking of going a little larger too, and have been asking the same question about size comparison between the B01 and B50 series machines. I think I've posted this already, but here is a pic of a BX2370, B2620, and a B3350 in a row. Maybe not the best angle to show the size difference between then, but my impression is that the B20 looks closer in size to the BX than and the B50 is bigger. The hood height on the B50 series is almost chest height (I'm 6'). It has very large rear tires and sits very tall, which makes it seem big, but I have not driven either around. Hope it helps.

The 2650 is noticeably bigger than the 2601, but you can still tell it's a B. You'd have to hop into an L model to see a real dramatic step in size/weight.

When I was shopping for my first tractor, the B2620 was a better size than the B3200 for my needs then, which included driving through the woods on narrow paths to skid logs out. I ended up getting a B2920 (same size as 2620) to have a little more PTO horsepower to drive a wood chipper. No question about it, the B3200 would have been a touch too big for that work (there were even some tight spots where the B2920 was tough to maneuver).

A couple years later when my needs turned to work in open areas and I no longer needed to drive on narrow paths through the woods, I looked at the B3200 but concluded it wasn't enough of a difference from the B2920 to really matter. That pushed me into an L3200 to really step up to the next size.

This is a bit circular, but hopefully it gives a two different perspectives on the sizes. I'd say if maneuverability in tight spaces is a factor, get the B2601. If you're doing work in open spaces with more room, the B2650 is fine. Otherwise they are fairly close in size/capability compared to the next step up to an L.

I put 400 hours on a new Kubota B3300SU tractor-loader package before selling to buy my Grand L3560.

Awfully spindly front axle on the B's for woods work. Zero shielding underneath for woods work.

Look at L3560. Just 10" longer, twice the weight, twice the stability and well shielded. Available with L2296 Heavy-Duty Round-Back bucket with SSQA for woods work.

The right machine for determined woods work.
