Ok, I will assume that nothing has been checked on my BX. I checked the oil (ok) the hydro rear (scoach high but I think OK), the front axle stick (ok).
Now grease fittings , only one on the tractor itself (foot peddal)?
I found in the mower manual where to fill em, but didnt see in the tractor manual.
Also, can you really OVER fill them (grease) and damage something?
How about the deck gear box. How do I check that. Should I look at anything else? I want to mow this weekend SOOO bad!
How do I check the

Roque just crank that baby up and mow! OK, you check the mower gearbox oil--covered in the mower manual by removing the top plug, there are two on the side, and oil should ooze from it. If no oil oozes from the top plug then remove the large plug on top of the gearbox and look in, there should be some oil in there. Add additional gear oil till oil oozes from the aforementioned upper plug. The lower plug is used for draining, just thought I would let ya know that. Stop!, do not return the tractor if the oil was low in the mower gearbox, just put some in there--it will be okay, trust me on this. Go purchase a Lincoln brand grease gun with an extra flex hose. Get some tubes of grease of the proper type and grease away if that makes you happy. If twenty years from now the bearings fail from over lubrication you will just have to spring for some new ones. I would fight to the death any one who tries to chain my tractor to another trailer. I am keeping this one 4 sure. Sooooo...
Is it actually possible to over grease?? I have no idea how that could be. What is the gurus lube of choice for greasing it up.
Any fittings on the tractor besides the peddal???

Just a couple 2-3 pumps is sufficient, you want to rotate fresh grease into the bearing forcing old grease out. A moderate amount of quality grease will do the job /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

On my rig there are also grease fittings on the top link and the lift rod of the 3-pt. hitch.
