Silver Star Ski Resort Expansion

Here are some photos of the ski resort in Canada, about the same latitude as Whistler I believe but further east. Right above the northeast corner (around that area) of Washington State. They just started their expansion this year, and I'm sooooo excited. It's a beautiful place to ski. Go there every year for about 4 or 5 years now. Unfortunately, my computer crashed so I don't have really cool photos of last year. Here's some pictures.

Here's the house we stay in. Our neighbors (huge groups of friends and actual neighbors back from WA) stay in the right side, we stay in the left side. Hot tubs in the back for both units, and that bridge to the left of the screen is a ski trail. Just above the hill is the end of a chair lift, you ski down the trail over the bridge past our house, continue down to the base yata yata yata....

Looks like some interesting work. I've been seeing quite a bit more Volvo equipment over the years up here in Maine. They make some nice stuff. A friend of mine owns a small mechanical logging operation and he was running a borrowed Volvo delimber when I last went up to visit.
But tell me about the snow. I'm really looking forward to it, and I leave later this week for my winter job: running a snowcat at Vail, CO. Bring on the snow, I'm ready for some skiing.

Blake, I hope the picture is not doing it justice. As an avid skier, I really enjoy checking out many new places. I've been to Whistler in the summer only. My list of local places right up the road are Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Heavenly Valley all in the Lake Tahoe area. I've been to Sun Valley in Idaho, Park City, Snow Bird, and Alta in Utah. I've heard wonderful things about Whistler and look forward to skiing it some day. Every where I go has much to offer and diversity. Rat...

PS Tahoe now has about 3 to 4 feet of the white stuff and some resorts are open.

Yeah, Whistler is a VERY nice place to go. Awesome skiing. Silver Star is also very nice and has a uniqueness about it. Hopefully over time I can visit some of the places you went.
