THOMAS: that silver king brings back memories. back in the late 50's and 60's i belonged to a hunt club, our leased property was in the adironadak mountains in northern ny, we used an old silver king tractor and wagon to get out gear back into our cabin, 5 miles of the worst logging trail u can imagine. we had to have a winch on the front to keep pulling us out of the muck, also needed a chain saw to clear fallen trees from trail.at that time it seemed like fun, course i was younger /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif but that tractor was a workhorse. wonder what happened to it?

Kerry,The way it was told to me by an old tractor rebuilder..the Silver King tractor cut out of the same mold as the Plymouth tractor, but facing a law suit from the Plymouth auto for using its name..Plymouth tractor drop the name and and rename to Silver King.If you wish to see a Plymouth tractor photo..go to search and type in Plymouth, than scroll down to Compact Tractor,8/20/02 & 05:43am & Thomas..there you shall view a 1952 Plymouth.

Actually the Silver King tractors were made in Plymouth Ohio by the Fate-Root-Heath Company. They also made locomotives for switching and use in coal mines. There is a major festival in Plymouth every summer for all of the collectors. Plymouth is a small town a few miles north of Mansfield, Ohio Here is a link to one of the clubs websites. http://groups.msn.com/SilverKingPlymouthTractorSite
