Spent days pouring over stats and capacity charts, crawling over and under both the new L4330 and the L4630 with 215 hours on the clock. Drove my wife crazy! But finally signed on the L4630HST. The fellow who traded it on a larger geared tractor took his loader with him, so this one will have a brand new quick release LA853 with HD bucket and pallet forks, two hooks, and the 3-way valve. Thought about going with the 4-way for a future snow plow, but I really prefer moving snow with my heated Chevy! The tractor will have brand new loaded Ags with tubes in the front (to prevent rolloff under heavy loads), Norse ice chains in rear and valve stem protectors. One set of rear hydraulic outlets and a Woods heavy duty 84" rear blade with hydraulic angle. Foldable ROPS, and a rear utility light mounted to the fender.

The verdict is still out on the winch, but I'll probably keep the Farmi 351P to see how it handles with more PTO HP. If disappointed, I can trade up to the 501 later.

The tractor will be named Tetters, after my wonderful soul dog who passed away this past August from cancer at the age of seven. Tetters will be in the shop before coming home getting all filters and fluids replaced. Looks like I take delivery a week from today: next Friday.

Now I have to shovel out the old backhoe from under the collapsed hoop out in the field. Too much snow!

Congratulations on the purchase, you will be very happy with it.

You also make me happy now as someone else on the board will have a 4630.

Have not had the problem with the front tires even with a 1300# pallet of potatoes on the front. Will have to load my tires before the next harvest though. The rear was light a few times.

Will you load only the rears? I have all four loaded on my L3010 and asked to have them all loaded on the L4630 (with tubes in front to keep from losing the bead under heavy loads), but the salesman looked at me funny as he wrote it down. Tonight, while reading the owners' manual, I read that you aren't supposed to load the fronts. Why not?

Never thought about loading the front tires as my problem with three wheeling, both front tires have always been on the ground.

Checked my owners manual as it state that the front tires should not be loaded to maintain steering control .

It further states that front ballast should be added through the use of weights on the front end on the four wheel drive.

I loaded the front tires on my 2910 with the heavy foam stuff, and will do it again next time I get a tractor. It doesn't make a HUGE difference, but there are times where every bit helps. Loading the rear tires is a no-brainer.

I still say you should have gotten the 4-way loader valve. An extra $50 now might save you $300-$400 later down the line.

I agree that you might want to buy the 4-way loader valve. It only cost me an extra $38 last year. Should not be much difference now.
Enjoy the new tractor.
