Side porch, yellow jacket nest

Don't forget, if you get stung, put some juice from an onion on it, and it will stop the pain almost immediately. Yeah, I was a skeptic and brushed it off as an old wive's tale until I tried it when a bumble bee got me in the palm of the hand.

never heard that.
But it seems you are on to something
. [says] that a fresh-cut onion might ease the pain of an insect sting because an ingredient in onions breaks down the chemicals responsible for inflammation and discomfort. Apply a Cut Onion to Soothe Bee Stings

Plantain weed is supposed to do it alsohttps://www.greenprophet.com/wp-content/uploads/plantain-weed-medicine.jpg

I have used heat in the past. The sting toxin does not have very powerful molecular bonds. So it's fairly easy to take apart.
