Shredding & Killer Bees don\'t mix

Here is an article from the Houston Chronicle newspaper about a man shredding in Richmond Texas, (about 20 miles SW of Houston). He was attached by killer bees while shredding with his tractor and then fell under the shredder and died.

That is sad.

I have run over ground hornets nests and bumble bee nest before. The ground hornets I parked on top of. The bumble bees(big yellow and black ones) rose up like a cloud behind me as I grabbed high gear and scooted out of there.

I have also had one of my bee hives get aggressive on me. (One that hadn't been maintained in 4-5 years) Bees started dive bombing us when we got near it. One 55 gal barrel over the top of it took care of the problem............for good.

As I am some what allergic to the stings I have a healthy respect for these pest.
