Actually this one is a hen as we used to keep poulty and sell eggs etc so it does have a meaning.

Anyone got a tractor up there?

Here is my 100 caliber wind vane. The receiver is from an old sliding block rifle. Barrel is 1" conduit, fore grip a metal chair leg, stock sheet metal and lever 1/8x1/2" steel strap.

Seriously, mine is just the old fashioned copper goose in flight. I obviously need to get more creative like you guys

Nothing special but it tells me what way the wind is blowing.

The old J.I.Case tractor isn't mine but close by.

The airplane weather vanes I build and give away to kids. Some adults are kids too I've discovered. :laughing: Waiting for some genius to build a micro speed indicator for the propeller. As it is now I just guess at wind speed. Some days it looks as if the prop will explode from centrifugal force.

I once made a twin engined bomber type plane after finding some old fan blades off something or other.
Any ways it ended up a pretty big model and was hoisted on to a pole so as the wind would drive the propellers , it had a larger than scale tail plane to turn it into the wind.

We had to take it down as the noise from the ' Engines' was keeping us awake at night.:laughing:

The Murder weapon Vane.
The Pistol was uncovered out in the desert. At least 2 shots were fired and it still has at least 2 unfired rounds in it.

Someone wanted or had to get rid of it. Maybe in a hurry.

It is almost a bolt for bolt copy of a Colt Single Action. Flat hammer spring & all. Sort of modern as it has an interrupter on the hammer.

I made it for a neighbor.
