I want to build me a thumb for my bx-23.im pretty handy with a welder and cutting torchs.Please lets here your ideas,and show me some of Your pics.If i have one built its gonna be over 500 bucks.Ican get some steel at work pretty cheap

Ive built thumbs for my excavator and my LB both. I have a pattern torch that traces out a sheetmetal pattern Im building a thumb for Mark V right now with it I have everything cut out just waiting for my real drill press to get wired in. When i get time ill have some pics put up here. I have 120 dollars in my big thumb on my excavator ists 38 inches long and is made of 3/4 plate and tubing. The smaller one on the backhoe is made from 1x2 solid barstock on my TLB I made it when I was 18. MarkV's thumb is cut out of 3/8ths plate. and is 17 inches long. Once you have a thumb on a backhoe youll think they ought to be illegal to not own one.
