My 5525 does a nice job, but looking to upgrade. Would like a little more hp to do some of the work in my hay operation.
wondering if anyone has made a similar replacement or has the 5115M and how they like it.

Also, I see posts about getting a % off the list price. With JD, we can all go on line and build a tractor and see the retail prices. Next is determining how much the JD dealer will discount that retail price. Looks like at this point we are at about a 20% discount. Just wondering how that stacks up against others.

Just about all the options on the 5115 are on the unit I am looking at. However, it does not have the 1000 pto kit. I have been told that option is not available from the factory and is a dealer add on. Anyone have the 1000 pto on their 5M series tractor? How does it work? I have seen the video JD has comparing the switching of the shaft compared to kubota. However, when the 1000 pto kit is installed, how is the pto set within the cab to 1000? Is there a change in the cab that has to be done?

Not 100% sure if this applies to the M but some 1000 rpm pto's I've seen have a reversible pto shaft. Remove a snap ring, pull the shaft out, spin it 180* and put it back in. Hopefully someone who has this option can chime in and tell you for sure.

I have the 5115M and love it. Admittedly, I've used it so little, that my opinion at this point probably isn't worth much. I upgraded from a 4720, so the size jump for me was a bit more than you're looking at.

Mine is a 13 that was bought used with 1 hour on the meter. It was originally ordered as part of a fleet, and was never even delivered, but since all the paperwork had been processed for the sale, it had to be sold as used. The only downside to this is I couldn't get 0% financing, as that is only on new vehicles. The money I saved more than makes up for the difference, and I got a 1.9% rate, so no complaints. I was only looking for a 5085M, but actually bought this for less than that would have cost me.

I've only been home for a very short time since it was delivered in May, but I'm really impressed so far. I've used it for brush hogging, grappling logs, and moving some stuff around with the pallet forks, and it has all the power (and more) than I will probably ever need. Sorry I can't give you more help with your decision based on my limited use, but good luck. 20140930_145025.jpg
