Should I bother with a lawn sweeper?

I think a good sweeper can reduce your effort but not at all. Anyway, still you should have one like me. Most of the time, I have to clean those large branches hand pick. Also, hate the monster wind!!

i would opt for a power bagger, your deck will grind up things - I have not used one but in my research on here in the lawn/garden section and thread i was advised of that and not only a bagger but a power/driven type - i picked one up on C/L very cheap wtih all the parts to fit my deere with the exception of the mounting brackets that go on the tractor for holding the catcher portion - i fabricated those recently and just painted them two nights ago and will get it all mounted up here this weekend - i tried it out during fabrication and holy moly does it suck up the stuff - i dont plan to do it regularly, just when we have fall leaves, gone on vacation and need to get bulk clippings off so it doesnt kill grass or maybe mulch some out in my pasture to compost on the garden around plants thats about it - we have 3 yards to take care of with mulching leaves in fall so it will help immensely for that

I have about an acre and a half of "lawn". It's actually meadow grass that has been mowed for 38+ years. Its filled in nicely and looks just like a heavy bladed lawn. I have a JD G100 riding mower that had the rear double bag system. It was a PITA. Filled too often - plugged up routinely.

So I just mow and go. If I mow as often as I should - it just mulches in and disappears. If I get lazy and wait too long - it looks like a field of alfalfa that has just been mowed.

Sooo.... I wait until the rows of grass have dried - a day or so - go back with the mower and blow these many rows into just a very few rows. Hand rake the few rows - throw on the compost pile. Done.
