Thanks so much for the insight.

This is the type of feedback I was looking for. It's not practical for me to travel to VA to look as something I might buy, but personal experience of others really helps.

I can relate to the phone system thing. Even when, as my wife is so fond of saying, I'm 'entering my sixth decade' (which sounds so much older than 50-something), we miss some of the fun of life by overthinking stuff.
