My dealer here stripped out the bleed screw on my fuel filter when they rebuilt the injector pump a couple weeks ago. It's back in the shop now because apparently that wasn't the problem and it still won't run very long.
The service manager told me that filter assembly isn't under warranty and I had to pay for it to the tune of over 100 bucks. I told him somebody is going to pay for it but it's not going to be me since they broke it.
Also I found out through some web surfing and phone calls that noone else I can find charges more than 40 bucks for that same exact part number.

He also quoted me 56 dollars for a 26 dollar air filter.

35 dollars for a 14 dollar fuel filter.

60 something dollars for 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid and the list goes on.

I'm never buying anything from them again. It's much easier and cheaper to just order from an online dealer. I advise everyone else to shop around too if you think the parts prices you are buying are too high. The place I'm dealing with must not have heard of the internet or something is all I can figure.

If the difference were only a couple bucks or so then I would support the local dealer but this is highway robbery as far as I'm concerned. I do have some idea what their wholesale prices are too since I have been in the business for years myself. That fuel filter assembly for example only costs them about 22 dollars or so. The cheapest retail I found on it was Messicks at 32.00. That is reasonable for a markup. Over 100 bucks is ridiculous!
Trying to make me pay for things they broke is also just plain wrong. I don't care if it isn't under warranty. It's their responsibility.

I would do a search on LoneCowboy, and heed some of the lessons illustrated in his threads concerning his TC45.

Primarily, do not let that same dealer work on your tractor ever again. There are other dealers, and if they are 100 miles away, it would be worth it.

It is unlikely that your current dealer cares much what future problems costs you or what you think about him.

I wish I could afford to take it to the next nearest dealer. I just can't. They are almost 70 miles away and the only trailer I can get that is big enough to haul my tractor is going to get me down in the 10-12 mpg range. With no farm income to speak of for 2 months now I can only afford 10 gallons at a time for the truck anyway.
I just hope they get it right this time. I will never use them again after this. I'm really feeling ripped off after this and the past equipment purchase I made with them. I really don't want to get into that in detail but in short I ordered a grass drill back in April in order to plant tiffany grass out in one of my pastures for hay this summer and they told me it was going to be a brillion type that is refurbished. Month after month the company doing the work on it gave excuse after excuse and it didn't show up untill the end of June. Way too late to plant around here. What showed up was nowhere near a brillion machine either. It was a repainted antique piece of garbage with holes in the seed box, siezed up openers, gears worn to the point they wouldn't stay engaged and no drill chart on it so I could have an idea where to set it.

Needless to say I did not accept delivery of it and hand planted my seed the first week of July. I'm done dealing with people like this. Form now on it will only be with the dealer I trust out in Pa where I was a mechanic for 5 years or the other dealer down the road from them. Both of them I had good relationships with and they are owned by good hard working Mennonites that have some sense of ethics still.
