Shock mount muffler on crawler?

I picked up an old IH175C with a DT466 in it and a shot muffler. It rusted out where the inlet meets the body. It strikes me that it probably vibrated itself to death. For all these tractors, crawlers, dozers, etc out there with the muffler coming straight vertical off the motor, is there some vibration dampening mount you can use to lengthen the muffler's life? The old setup looked like the muffler was directly attached to the exhaust manifold.

I'm going to put a Donaldson M110189 muffler on it and would like it to last a bit.

In talking with some folks on this side, no one is aware of a dampening system. The consensus is that the old muffler died an early death due to lack of a rain guard earlier in the muffler's life (it has a rain guard on it now, but the thought is that it was installed after the damage had been done). Hope this helps someone!

You got it. They just rust out. They really don't vibrate much when installed right. The old engine blocks are massive and rigidly mounted.

Is it turbo? My BIL's Deere 755B trackloader muffler rusted out just like that. Rust scale and muffler bits fell straight down into the exhaust manifold and enough got into the turbo jam it.

Yes, it is setup with a turbo. It spins nicely, though.
