Shift to Neutral on BX2200????

Hello all, I bought a used 2002 BX2200 with 198hrs, brand new!!!! awesome shape!!! I have not been sleeping for one week straight from all the excitement, torn about everything possible in the driveway with my new modern rake and fel.... a hout-a-nanny fun let me tell you. Can't wait for snow!!!! Only one question, I cannot put the **** thing in Neutral. I tried everything possible, park brake, iddle up down all arround, I literally have two pry on the lever and giggle until it comes so close to bending the lever and maybe if I'm lucky it will finnaly give and pop into neutral, then I can shut it down. Anyone have same issue, do you need a special liscence to shift in neutral,,, or am I missing something?

That happens on mine too. While sitting still, give the very slightest and briefest pressure on the forward pedal and stop. Then give the same pressure on the rear pedal and stop. Now try to gently move the lever. This seems to relieve the hydro pressure that pins the internal mechanisms in place. My version of double clutching. Works for me. Let us know if it does for you.

Other thoughts-
1. Look to see if anything is binding the linkage.
2. Lube the linkage with some spray grease.

I second what Tom H said. I use that approach to help in shifting from 2WD to 4WD and when changing drive ranges, though my BX1850 seems more stubborn changing from 2WD to 4WD or back vs changing gear ranges.

Sounds like the hydro is holding a little pressure on the gears. Try rocking the hydro peddle back and forth while moving the gear shift lever to neutral.

Lift the back seat and use spray grease on the linkage it will shift smooth as glass.

the hydro inst neutralizing fully or your on a hill. brake on then rock the pedal as described. does the machine creep when the hydro is in neutral.
the best way to get out of 4wd is to hold weight on the lever while driving the turn left, right, left. it will poop out.

As barryh said, lube the linkage. A shot of wd-40 works great. It seems to be common on new units. Get the linkage where the lever meets the trans housing, ubder the right rear fender. All should be easy and smooth after that.

Another thing to try: If it does not go into neutral, release the clutch andpush in again and try it. If that does not work, repeat the process. This works well on my B7800.

No clutch pedal on a BX2200.

Sometimes mine will balk. Usually a tap on the hydro pedal or a little rocking motion on the lever and it will engage.
